Topsport Community Award
Last week Pieter van den Hoogenband, accompanied by a brass band, surprised everyone by presenting the Topsport Community Award to the team that best embodied this year’s theme, Focus: the Striive team. The unexpected music immediately grabbed everyone’s attention and set the celebration mood.
Over the past few months, the team has worked tirelessly on the rollout of Striive in the UK and the US, and despite the distance, time differences, and other challenges, they made it happen. A perfect recognition of focus, perseverance, and teamwork a fantastic achievement by the entire Striive team.
Colleague in the Sportlight
At Team HeadFirst Group, we highlight a colleague each month in our ‘Colleague in the Sportlight’ series. This time, we’re putting multiple colleagues in the Sportlight, because 8 colleagues took on the challenge last Friday, 28 November, competing at HYROX Utrecht. Well done Tamara & Melvin, Marie-Jose & Sven, Skip & Eva, Sander & Benthe!
What exactly is HYROX? HYROX is a combination of running and functional workouts. You run 1 km, followed by a workout station such as the ski erg, sled push, burpee broad jumps or sandbag lunges. You repeat that eight times. It’s intense, varied, and a real test of endurance, strength, and teamwork.
HYROX Utrecht Company Challenge On Friday evening in Utrecht, we competed among teams from other major companies. The vibe was energetic and competitive, yet friendly lots of excitement, determination and adrenaline. The perfect stage to show what Team HeadFirst Group stands for.
What makes this evening special? The team spirit was next-level. Everyone pushed themselves and supported each other through the toughest stations. And what made it even better: colleagues who came all the way to cheer us on. The mix of effort, encouragement, and pride made it an unforgettable night and a great showcase of our sporty culture.
Pushing limits Our teams powered through the HYROX course with drive, determination, and plenty of fun. Along the way, it was amazing to see colleagues stepping out of their comfort zones, cheering each other on, and really showing what it means to have that sporty, unstoppable Team HeadFirst Group spirit. The energy, the support, and the laughter made it clear: pushing your limits together isn’t just about finishing a race, it’s about motivation, and creating moments we’ll all remember.

Topsport Community Live!
With a group of sixty colleagues and clients, we attended Topsport Community Live. An evening that brilliantly showed how sports, science, and business strengthen each other. In a packed AFAS Theater, Erik Scherder took the stage, humorously explaining how our brains handle focus and stress, making complex science both insightful and entertaining.
Coaches Evangelos Doudesis, Eelco Meenhorst, and Laurens ten Dam shared their high-performance methods, while Olympic athletes Noortje & Bregje de Brouwer, Femke Heemskerk, Marit Bouwmeester, Duco Telgenkamp, and the legendary Ireen Wüst shared inspiring stories about pressure, teamwork, and maintaining focus when it matters most.
For us as Team HeadFirst Group, it was not only a source of fresh inspiration but also a valuable opportunity to connect with clients and colleagues. An energizing evening that brought us even closer together.

Over the past few years, we’ve been proud partners of the Topsport Community, and sport is more than just a collaboration for us, it’s in our DNA.
